Arrival/ Dismissal
Student and staff safety is our first priority. Please help keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient by following staff directions, using patience, and remaining consistent with these procedures.
Arrival
Students may not arrive before 8:45 AM because supervision is not available before that time. Students must be in their classrooms and ready to learn by 9:00 AM.
All students arriving by car, on foot, or by bicycle will enter through the main entrance, Door S1.
► Students Arriving by Car
Cars must follow the traffic flow and AGS staff directions. Pull forward as far as possible in the diamond lane to reduce congestion on Carlisle Road.
Students should exit the vehicle only after the car has stopped and must exit from the passenger side onto the sidewalk. Drivers must remain in their vehicles. After drop-off, drivers may carefully move from the diamond lane into the passing lane and exit onto Carlisle Road.
► Students Arriving by Bike
Students must walk bikes while on school grounds. A supervisor or crossing guard will assist students crossing the diamond lane to the bike rack near Door S2. Students should secure bikes with a lock, then walk on the sidewalk and enter through Door S1.
► Students Walking
Adults will be stationed at the Hoover Street crossing and at the diamond lane crossing near Door S2. Students must stay on the sidewalks and enter through Door S1.
Dismissal
► Students Being Picked Up by Car
Cars must enter from Carlisle Road and follow the diamond lane to the new main entrance, Door S1. Pull forward as far as possible and display the yellow pick-up sign in the window.
Each car rider will receive two yellow pick-up signs. Additional signs may be requested from Mrs. Cronin in the main office.
Students must enter vehicles from the passenger side. Drivers must remain in their vehicles. Once the child is safely in the car, drivers may carefully move into the passing lane and exit onto Carlisle Road.
For safety reasons, adults may not walk up to the car pick-up area to retrieve students.
► Students Walking Home
Walkers will exit through Door E1 and may proceed east or south on the sidewalk.
Students walking south must cross the diamond lane near Door S2, where an adult will assist with crossing. Students and families may not walk past Door S2 on the main sidewalk; they must cross at Door S2.
► Students Biking Home
Bikers will exit through Door E1 and walk south on the sidewalk toward Door S2 and the bike rack. After retrieving their bikes, students must cross the diamond lane near Door S2 with adult assistance.
